Hardiness zone warming calculator
The current USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map is based on average yearly minimum temperatures over 1976-2005 and therefore doesn't fully include recent warming. This calculator estimates the amount by which the average yearly minimum temperature has warmed over points in the coterminous United States compared to the 2012 USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map value. For the procedure used to estimate the warming trend, see this paper. The uncertainty (error standard deviation) of the warming estimates is around ±0.6 °C (1.1 °F).
To find your longitude and latitude, you can go here; the lower right corner of the map shows the coordinates of where your mouse is. For example, New York City is around 41°N, 74°W.
